Organisation:Human Rights Society

Comment:

The Human Rights Society (HRS)can provide leaflets outlining modern methods of relief of pain and information concerning hospices and project material for students. Available from them is a video, (£11.00 to purchase or £7.00 to hire) entitled "A Matter of Death and Life - The Future?", which covers issues concerning euthanasia and living wills.
The Society can offer telephone information, but is not a twenty four hour service. HRS is opposed to legislation of voluntary euthanasia due to reservations on any law being able to provide the necessary safeguards. They have just undertaken research into availability of palliative care.
