The Cancer Patient Information and Support Centre is situated in the Main Reception of the Oncology Centre. It is available to all patients, their families and friends, who can visit at any time, not just when attending the hospital. It is a relaxed and friendly place to drop into and is normally open Monday to Friday from 10:00amto 4:00pm. If you are making a journey to visit the Centre, phone first to check opening times. Information available includes Cancerbackup and CancerLink booklets, leaflets on self help groups, holidays, travel insurance, complementary therapies and many others. They can arrange for patients to talk to other patients via their Person 2 Person telphone link-up service, called P2P.
The Centre also sell hats and scarves for people who have suffered hair loss. On the third Wednesday of the month, "Look Good, Feel Better" beauty make-over sessions are run to give advice on skincare and make-up.
