The Child Benefit Office is the administering body for claims to, and payment of, Child Benefit, Child Benefit Lone Parent and Guardians Allowance.
Enquiries can be directed to the Child Benefit Enquiry Line on 0845-3021-444, or by text phone 0845-3021-474 (phone lines open 8:00am to 8:00pm, seven days a week), by letter, or in person at the Child Benefit Office (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm). Staff at the office can explain your entitlement regarding these benefits, answer queries and also deal with changes if you are currently in receipt of any of these benefits - for example, if a child leaves school or you change your name.
If your preferred language is Welsh, please phone 0845-302-1489. For other clients whose first language is not English, the office provides a telephone interpreting service on request. They can reply in a different format if requested, for instance, braille, audio cassette or large print.
