Comment: | The Villager Community Bus Service provides a public transport service in rural areas where the commercial bus service is absent or inadequate. Four sixteen seat buses operate on seventeen routes covering sixty villages spread over three hundred square miles of Gloucestershire, West Oxfordshire and South Warwickshire. Twenty five volunteer drivers are active on Villager Services, some once per fortnight, others three journeys per week. Seventeen thousand passengers per year use the service. Every aspect of the service is run by volunteers and is often quoted nationally as a remarkable service run by volunteers.
The minibuses, with drivers, can also be hired out to local approved organisations. |
