Eye Sight Tests under the NHS can in some cases be free. You qualify for a free eye sight test:
+ if you are on low income;
+ if you or your partner get income support or, in some cases, Working Tax Credit;
+ if you are in receipt of Income based Jobseekers Allowance;
+ if you are under sixteen or a full time student under nineteen, or if you are sixty or over;
+ if you are registered blind or partially sighted;
+ if you are diagnosed diabetic or suffering from glaucoma;
+ if you need very strong (complex) lenses;
+ if you are aged over 40 and the parent, brother, sister or child of a person with diagnosed glaucoma.
Adults claiming Working Tax Credit should apply using the form HC1 if they feel they are on a low income.
