The Ex Services Mental Welfare Society (now called Combat Stress) is a charity specialising in the care of men and women of all ranks discharged from the Armed Services and the Merchant Navy who suffer from injury to the mind. The Society has a regional network of welfare officers throughout the UK who visit patients at home or in hospital, and who help with the presentation of claims and appeals for War Disablement Pensions. The Society also has the facility of three short stay treatment homes.
This Welfare Support Team South covers Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and the Channel Isles.
