Comment:

PAPYRUS is a voluntary organisation committed to the prevention of young suicide and the promotion of good mental health and well-being. Information on mental health issues and support for young people who may be suicidal will be sent to any enquirer. PAPYRUS wants to raise awareness about the risk of mental distress during adolescence and young adulthood and to remove the stigma attached to suicide. PAPYRUS works with other voluntary and statutory organisations to improve services and to share good practice. It produces resources for health and education professionals. The website has a great deal of information and advice for young people and their families, friends and carers. From September 2005, Papyrus has run a helpline called HopeLine UK for anyone who needs advice on how to support a young person who is feeling suicidal (Please see separate record)
