LINK is the major organisation in the UK providing services exclusively for adults experiencing the trauma of acquired profound deafness. Their services include:
+ intensive rehabilitation programmes for recently deafened adults and their families;
+ a network of deafened trained outreach volunteers around the UK;
+ challenging Deafness - a localised self-mangement programme for deafened people which complemenets the residential programme for those unable to travel to Eastbourne;
+ a national network of support groups run by deafened people for deafened people and their partners;
+ support and training groups for cochlear implant users;
+ training courses for professionals working in the field of rehabilitation for deafened adults;
+ research into the effects of acquired profound deafness;
+ a new chat room on the website;
+ a magazine - Linked;
+ a membership sceme.
