BLESMA is concerned with the welfare of limbless orotherwise disabled Ex-Servicemen and women and their dependents. They also help civilians similarly injured as a result of war or enemy action, who can become associate members. They operate Residential and Nursing Homes at Blackpool and Crieff providing permanent accommodation and respite care. BLESMA provides a counselling service to individuals pre and post amputation and advice on Pensions and Allowances. They can make representation to Government Departments on individual entitlements and where necessary, represent Members and their dependents at Pension Appeal Tribunals. They operate a welfare visiting Service to Members and Widows and can provide grants and equipment.
