Comment:

Aid for Children with Tracheostomies (ACT) is an organisation which aims to help parents and children with tracheostomies. ACT raises funds to purchase essential medical equipment, gives support and practical advice to parents and children with tracheostomies, and promotes and establishes new self-help groups by raising awareness of the needs and problems of children with a tracheostomy. Membership is free to parents, who receive quarterly newsletters and information. The organisation is run by parents of children with tracheostomies. They hold an annual study day for parents, and a bi-annual seminar for professionals.
