Comment: | The NSPCC team is a Specialist Investigation Service (SIS), commissioned by Social Services to investigate allegations of child abuse which involve Social Service staff and also allegations of wider abuse. Local concerns and reports of abuse need to be referred to the NSPCC Child Protection Helpline or the local Social Services Department.
The NSPCC SIS Team in Gloucester is part of a network of teams throughout England and Wales which work in partnership with Police and Statutory agencies to primarily investigate organised, institutional and professional abuse.
There is a twenty four hour freephone Helpline service on 0808-800-5000. Children, or adults concerned about a child, can also ring the Childine on 0800-1111 (see separate record).
