The Gloucestershire Dyslexia Association (GDA) is a registered charity, affiliated to the British Dyslexia Association. It works to increase awareness and understanding of dyslexia and to provide information, education and support to dyslexic people and to the parents and teachers of dyslexic children. They do this in the following ways:
+ trained and experienced befrienders available by telephone;
+ Saturday morning tuition during school term time which provides one-to-one tuition with fully qualified specialist teachers;
+ public meetings on subjects of interest for parents, teachers and others with an interest in dyslexia;
+ registers of qualified specialist teachers providing private tuition and qualified, recommended educational psychologists;
+ advice on computers, software and IT equipment;
+ support and advice for dyslexic adults.
Members of the GDA receive a copy of the newsletter three times a year, together with a copy of the BDA magazine. To become a member, please contact them directly.
