Comment:

Mencap is the largest national UK charity working with children and adults with a learning disability.
Mencap represents the views and daily experience of people with a learning disability and their families. It campaigns for equal rights by challenging discrimination and disadvantage, raising expectations and removing barriers to social inclusion. Mencap is striving to achieve its vision of a world where all people with a learning disability have choice, opportunity and respect, with the support they need. It works to deliver change wherever these rights are compromised.
Mencap directly improves the lives of people with learning disabilities through its services, which include:
residential and housing services;
employment services via the Pathway Employment Service;
leisure services via the National Federation of Gateway Clubs;
education at Mencap's three FE Colleges;
information via the National Learning Disability Helpline and Information Service;
unique bookshop.
