Comment:

The Cotswold Council for Voluntary Service recruits, interviews and places volunteers in voluntary work matching their skills and interests in response to requests from voluntary and statutory organisations needing help. The Service provides an information network between statutory and voluntary organisations and the public on any matter. Other services provided by the Service include a voluntary car scheme (see separate record) for disabled and housebound people (expenses per mile are paid to drivers), a Dial-a-Ride service (see separate record) and a Welcome Home Scheme. The hospital will inform the Welcome Home Scheme when a patient is due to be discharged from hospital, someone will visit the patient to arrange to meet them at their home when they arrive and check they have the things they need, such as food etc. A contact for the Lechlade area is Pat Mabon on 07789-858931.
Cotswold CVS is a partner in GIG - Gloucestershire Infrastructure Group - previously known as FOLDA.
