Organisation:AFAA - Association for Families who have Adopted from Abroad

Comment:

The Association for Families who have Adopted from Abroad (AFAA) offers support to families who have adopted, or are considering adopting, children from abroad, and generally aims to promote inter-country adoption (ICA) as a well founded method of building a family.

Support is offered in various ways:
They operate an Advice Line, which is supported by a number of members who have recently adopted, and who are willing to talk to prospective adopters.
They organise both national and regional events, where families can meet to share experiences and get to know each other.
They run seminars on post-adoption issues, which are also relevant to pre-adopters.
They provide a regular newsletter for members, and a range of publications and information booklets on adoption issues.
