Ichthyosis is a congenital disorder characterised by non-inflammatory dryness and scaling of the skin.
The Ichthyosis Support Group offers support by telephone and letter, a quarterly newsletter which includes personal experiences, a pen-pal scheme and skin care tips. Occasional family meetings are organised. The group also has contact with dermatologists at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
