Comment: | The Medical Assessment Programme (MAP) is open to all present and former servicemen or MOD civilians who served in the Gulf at any time between August 1990 and July 1991 (Op. Granby), or who believe their ill health has suffered as a direct result of the Gulf conflict. The programme does not provide treatment but assesses patients and recommends treatment if appropriate.
It is also available to Gulf War II (Op. Telic) veterans and veterans of the current operation in Afghanistan (Op. Merrick) The programme has recently been extended to offer mental health examination for all veterans with operational service since 1982 (including veterans of the Falklands conflict).
An information pack is available giving information on the programme, including details of medical examinations, tests and travel expenses - also available via the website. |
