Comment: | Gloucestershire Music is based at the Colwell Arts Centre, but delivers services all over the county. Services offered include:
+ instrumental teaching, providing tuition to over ten thousand young people and adults;
+ one of the largest stocks of instruments in the country, available for hire to Gloucestershire pupils at much lower rates than are available commercially;
+ oncerts for schools. Introducing children to the pleasure of music making is given high priority. Hundreds of lecture recitals are given in junior schools each year;
+ county music groups: twenty-two orchestras, music centres, wind bands and jazz bands cater for over thirtenn hundred adults and young people at all levels of attainment;
+ a residential summer school and one day courses providing intensive musical experiences for pupils led by members of the instrumental teaching team;
+ the Gloucestershire Young Musician Competition.
