Comment: | The Forum of Mobility Centres is a network of seventeen independent organisations covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. They offer information, advice and assessment to individuals who have a medical condition or are recovering from an accident or injury which may affect their ability to drive, access or egress a motor vehicle.
A range of services are offered by accredited mobility centres including Driving, Passenger and wheelchair assessments. The assessments are to enable clients to receive unbiased advice, information and recommendations and are carried out by experts in the field of mobility impairment. There are generally two types of driving assessment offered by each centre. If the person's health condition only results in a physical limitation then a vehicle control trial is usually appropriate. This includes an assessment for specific vehicle modifications which will assist with the control of the car. If a person has a medical condition which affects thought processing skills then a driving ability assessment will be offered. This includes assessment of driving skills such as judgment, decision making and problem solving.
They have a web address - www.mobility-centres.org.uk - but it is not accessible from all systems. |
