TAG brings together national and regional organisations concerned with electronic communications for deaf people. It aims to:
discuss and reach a consensus viewpoint to put to Government, Ofcom, telecoms and broadcasting companies, local authorities amd other relevant parties;
provide advice to service providers, equipment manufacturers and organisations;
ensure that deaf people can and do have the means to make full use of electronic communications;

Direct Textphone Access enables anyone with a textphone to have direct typed conversations with another textphone user. Access services for broadcasting include subtitling, signed programmes and audio description.
