Organisation: Stop it Now! UK and Ireland

Comment:

Stop it Now! UK and Ireland is a public health child sexual abuse prevention campaign. It is a national collaboration with voluntary and statutory sector partners. The Lucy Faithfull Foundation (see separate record) manage the campaign, and run the Stop it Now! Surrey and the National Helpline, which has been highly successful with eighty four percent of calls coming from their target groups - people worried about their own behaviour and families and friends of actual and potential abusers.
Other local area based projects are led by partner agencies.
The campaign's aim is to stop child sexual abuse by encouraging abusers and potential abusers to seek help. We provide adults with the information they need to recognise worrying behaviour in themselves or others, and with the confidence to take responsible action when they suspect that something is wrong.
