The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is an Executive Agency of the Department of Health protecting and promoting public health and patient safety. This is done by ensuring that medicines, healthcare products and medical equipment meet appropriate standards of safety, quality, performance and effectiveness, and are used safely.
The MHRA was formed in 2003 by the merger of the Medicines Control Agency (MCA) and the Medical Devices Agency (MDA).
There is a Central Enquiry Point for all enquiries. The Central Enquiry Point staff will either answer your telephone enquiry immediately or transfer you to the appropriate expert within the Agency.
