Organisation:Children with Aids Charity

Comment:

Children with Aids Charity has been set up to help the youngest of those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. The aim of the charity is to help children and their families maintain a good quality of life by:
+ the Hardship Project, which offers financial assistance to families with a child infected or affected by HIV or AIDS who are experiencing difficulties in meeting the costs of essential goods and services (from warm winter clothes, fuel bills, to beds and bedding);
+ the Respite Breaks Project, which offers assistance towards the costs of family holidays and respite care breaks;
+ The Education Department, which works to tackle the stigma that still surrounds the virus. Critically acclaimed educational videos have been produced for use in schools, booklets aimed at the parent / carer concerning issues of disclosure and safer sex leaflets. The education remit has expanded to offer work experience for vulnerable young people.
