The principal aim of the Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA) is to provide contact and support to families affected by the disease and to improve the level of information available to such families. They provide information on Batten Disease and available services such as education, benefits and equipment and organise conferences for professionals, families and carers.
The Association is based at Heather House which is a residential facility in the south of England purpose built by seeAbility for young adults with visual impairments and profound multiple disabilities or degenerative conditions - particularly those with Juvenile Batten disease.
