The Office for National Statistics provides a wide range of information on society, population, health, the labour market, business and the economy and to provide access and assistance to anyone who requires official statistics for research, business or recreation. As well as extensive information on the website, the National Statistics Service provides two libraries for visitors to conduct their own research. Entry is free, but an appointment is necessary.
The London Library (at 1 Drummond Gate, London) has three extensive statistical collections - Key 'National Statistics' publications. Office for National Statistics publications covering population, health, social issues, finance etc. and a collection of international statistical data published by major organisations.
The Newport Library (see contact address) has an extensive collection of statistical data covering Business, Economics and Finance.
Both libraries have disabled access and photocopying facilities.
It is advisable to telephone us before visiting either of our libraries to ensure the publications you require are available.
