Organisation:Disability Partnership

Comment:

The Disability Partnership is a charity that exists primarily as a launch pad for initiatives that ultimately change the daily lives of many disabled people for the better. They work to overcome the attitudinal and physical barriers that most affect disabled people in Britain and worldwide.
They are currently running five separate projects:
MOVE (Mobility Opportunities Via Education) (see separate record) - a teaching programme that enables children, young people and adults with disabilities to sit, stand and walk: thereby allowing them to take greater control of their lives through increased independence;
IndividuALL - the one-stop shop on disability related issues: developing disability equality, accessible premises and fair employment practices across the hospitality sector;
Consultancy - providing specialist input to the business community, charities and government agencies;
Leadership Consortium Development Programmes - offering talented disabled people a mentor and personal development resources to help them achieve their full potential;
The Health Council - improving training and healthcare provision for disabled people.
