Organisation: The Vulval Pain Society

Comment:

The Vulval Pain Society (VPS) is a confidential service for women who suffer from vulval pain due to vulval vestibulitis and vulvodynia. The Society was set up in 1996 by a doctor and nurse and is run voluntarily.
The main aims of the group are to provide information and support for women with a wide range of vulval conditions, and their partners, with particular reference to vulval pain syndromes. The Vulval Pain Society Handbook covers most aspects of vulval pain and includes how to take a holistic approach to pain management. The VPS also holds quarterly workshops around the country that offer an informal environment for women to meet and discuss issues and treatments with other women and health professionals.
The VPS also encourages the setting up of support groups around the country. The group is not externally funded or attached to any health service organisation.
