Leightons Opticians, a family owned business, was established in 1928 by H. O. Leighton, the father of the current chairman, Richard Leighton. The first practice was opened in Southampton and the company successfully expanded its operations in the South East.
In 1996, Leightons established a franchise company which has enabled further expansion.
Leightons shops are designed to achieve a modern and comfortable feel with an extensive selection of designer and non-designer frames and sunglasses, with state of the art consulting room equipment and full air conditioning throughout.
