Comment: | Roundabout is a project initiated by the Vale of Evesham Volunteer Centre in 1994 under the original title of the Vale Volunteer Furniture Centre. From humble beginnings, it has grown to an operation which involves more than two dozen volunteers, a large warehouse, and two vans, serving Worcestershire, and parts of North Gloucestershire, along the Worcestershire border.
In April 2001, became a registered charity in its own right, and in March 2004 became a private company.
The charity collects good quality household furniture and other domestic items which are distributed to the less fortunate in the community. They accept household furniture in good condition, including crockery, cutlery, curtains, etc. These items are then made available to those on low incomes and in need who are referred by an appropriate agency - social services, health centres, etc.
A modest charge is made for the furniture and delivery; information packs are available for prospective referral agencies. |
