Comment: | CLA Charitable Trust is a fund, operating in England and Wales, to provide facilities for the disabled and disadvantaged to take part in recreation and education in the countryside. The Trust was founded by CLA members in 1980 to help disabled people in England and Wales. Its objects are threefold:
to encourage education about the countryside for those who are disabled or disadvantaged, particularly youngsters from urban areas;
to provide facilities for those with disabilities to have access to recreation in the countryside;
to promote education in agriculture, horticulture and conservation for those who are disabled or disadvantaged.
The Charitable Trust achieves its objectives through grants and advice to organisations that wish to provide such facilities, focusing on smaller projects where the grant makes a real contribution to its success. To date, the Trust has awarded grants well in excess of £1 million.
NB The trustees do not give grants to individuals. |
