Comment: | The Locking Hill Practice is derived from two single-handed practices: one based in Uplands and the other at the 'Top of the Town'. At the end of 1963 the two practices joined in partnership but continued to work from separate premises, and in 1972 the practice moved to the Health Centre at Beeches. With increasing numbers of patients and extreme pressure on available space it was decided to move out of the Health Centre into the purpose-built Locking Hill Surgery in 1982.
