Comment: | Vaginal Birth After Caesarean (VBAC) Information and Support was set up to help those women who wished to avoid surgery as a method of childbirth. They are one of very few self help groups for VBAC information that are available around the world.
VBAC offer information by post and support by telephone. They do not think it is 'odd' or 'weird' to want a natural birth, even if the previous one was by caesarean. They just offer you the information that maternity carers may not tell you, such as that unless complications arise it is safer for both mother baby to have a vaginal birth.
They have over ten thousand members, mainly caesarean parents, and produce a quarterly newsletter. They also have a wide selection of VBAC information, available for a slight cost, and local support groups or contacts in most parts of Britain and Europe who will help you to find the information that you are looking for (such as which are the best books, doctors, hospitals, etc.) If they cannot help, Vaginal Birth After Caesarean can put you in touch with other organisations who can.
They have a lending library of books and videos of over three hundred related titles covering most pregnancy related problems. |
