Comment:

Gloucestershire Older Persons' Assembly (GOPA) aims to provide a voice for all older people living in Gloucestershire. The Steering Group has addressed a wide range of issues that affect older people, including housing, carers' roles and needs, hospital, residential and day care, and adult education. It has promoted the needs and views of older people and influenced the services delivered by key agencies such as Social Services and Primary Care Trusts.
GOPA now also provides an advocacy service for older people across the county (except the Forest of Dean) - the advocates are trained volunteers. The Advocacy Co-ordinator can be contacted on 01452-332830 or by e-mailing: [email protected]. GOPA also manage, jointly with MENCAP, the Gloucestershire Service Users' Forum.

The office is generally open Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, but these times may vary.
