Comment: | The development of the Gloucestershire Youth Partnership is an initiative of Gloucestershire Council for Voluntary Youth Services. Working with other agencies GYP programmes will support the work of Gloucestershire's Voluntary Youth Organisations to offer varied, safe and exciting opportunities for young people.
Key plans include: greater involvement of young people in decision-making and organisation; more training opportunities for staff; better communication, including ICT initiatives; a shared 'directory' of opportuntities; more support and advice on funding, legal matters etc; support for good quality and safe experiences for young people - provided by properly registered helpers; greater awareness of the benefits that the voluntary sector provide; a greater role for partnership working and joined-up solutions.
They are currently working with a variety of organisations to produce i-glos, a live and regularly updated shared database / directory for young people and youth organisations. |
