Comment:

The Churches Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS) is the working name of PCCA Christian Child Care, an independent Christian charity providing professional child protection advice and support to churches and organisations. The service is unique - they believe no other organisation provides this support across the denominations and groups, throughout the British Isles. CCPAS helps Churches, organisations, Social Services and other child care agencies, as well as children and families, in the following ways: training to help workers and leaders respond to children who might have been abused; helping churches and other organisations adopt safe practices so as to protect children; providing help and on-going support; acting as external consultants as part of a child protection policy; giving support to leaders/families in individual cases.
They provide a twenty four hour telephone helpline for churches and individuals faced with child protection issues and those in crisis. CCPAS also act as an "umbrella organisation" for CRB checks for churches and other organisations.
