Comment: | Jumpstart aims to tackle social exclusion by providing advice and short term transport solutions to individuals seeking employment or work related training. For those living in rural communities one of the major obstacles is lack of adequate public transport to enable them to take up jobs or places on training courses. Jumpstart offers short term assistance to enable people to become independent and, after three to six months in employment, self-sufficient. The project operates in close liason with local jobs centres and colleges.
If you live in rural Gloucestershire you can call Jumpstart free. They will ask you a few questions and arrange for you to meet a Transport Advisor. Jumpstart may be able to help in the following ways:
+ advice on different ways of getting to job or training placement;
+ help to get your own transport roadworthy;
+provide you with the short-term loan of a moped;
+ help with a small grant or subsidy, depending on circumstances;
+ provide a battery bicycle loan if searching for work. |
