Organisation:PEAL - Parents Experiencing Adult Loss

Comment:

PEAL is a support service for parents who have had a child aged sixteen or over die, whether after an illness or suddenly through an accident or because of violence, suicide, or misuse of alcohol, drugs or substances. They also offer a support service for people bereaved of a sibling aged sixteen or more. There is no upper limit for the age of the child and their death could have been very recent or some years ago.
They are able to offer confidential support from trained volunteers and staff, a telephone helpline, personal support, an opportunity to attend group meetings, bereavement counselling and a resource and information centre.
The service was originally set up to respond to Worcestershire parents and siblings, but is now available nationwide; however anyone living outside Worcestershire must be willing to travel to the support centre in Worcester.
