Comment: | The Independent Complaints and Advocacy Service (ICAS) is an independent service for anyone needing help or advice regarding a complaint about NHS treatment. The service is impartial, non-judgemental and confidential - no private / personal information is passed onto anyone else without consent. You can talk to them on the phone or make an appointment to meet them at the CAB or they can make home visits. ICAS Officers will work closely with other agencies to ensure that the client receives a complete service - they collaborate closely with PALS (the Patients Advice and Liaison Service). They cover all aspects of clinical treatment, including dentistry, consent to treatment, attitude of staff, communication / information to patients, admissions, transfer or discharge, length of time waiting for a response, patient privacy and dignity, discrimination, property and expenses, etc.
The Advocate for Gloucestershire is Den Donnelly.
