Comment: | Rehab UK provides assessment, training and development programmes that enable people with disabilities to break into the workforce and social environment. Founded in 1994, the development of a network of innovative brain injury centres is now the main focus of its work.
The Centres provide return-to-work services in the first year, followed by an additional pre-vocational programme in year two for people who are not ready for direct entry to the return-to-work services. Clients are helped to identify their strengths and weaknesses following a head injury. For those who cannot return to their original employment, a variety of methods are employed to examine the alternatives.
Each centre works in co-operation with health and social services, statutory employment services, voluntary agencies and local employers.
