Organisation:Rehab UK

Comment:

Rehab UK provides assessment, training and development programmes to help people with disabilities to break into the workforce. Founded in 1994, the development of a network of innovative brain injury centres is now the main focus of its work.
The Rehab Group operates three Brain Injury Centres (BICs) in England (London, Birmingham, Newcastle - see individual entries for addresses) and there are centres in Scotland under the auspices of Momentum Scotland, which enable people with a brain injury to retain their jobs or retrain for new employment.
Traumatic brain injury has been labelled the silent epidemic because it often goes undiagnosed - despite being a major cause of disability in people under the age of sixty.
Its estimated that around one person in every thousand has sustained a brain injury - usually in road accidents, but also in falls, assaults or sporting accidents - and often there is a need for specialist intervention.
