Organisation:Learning Disability Helpline (Mencap)

Comment:

The Learning Disability Helpline is provided by MENCAP. They offer free, confidential and independent information and advice on virtually any subject to do with learning disability. They can give advice on:
+ housing;
+ education;
+ money and benefits;
+ leisure activities;
+ support groups;
+ advocacy and self-advocacy.

The Helpline is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm (closed on Wednesdays). There is an alternative website at www.askmencap.info. Mencap has a lot of local knowledge, and a network of connections nationwide, which means they can link you up with organisations or services in your area that can help.
