Comment:

Library clubs are available in many parts of the County as a way of bringing housebound people to the library. Where these clubs exist, transport to the library is provided and people usually visit the library once a month. The clubs are held monthly, and serve over three hundred housebound people. Most club meetings last around ninety minutes - some held while the library is closed to the general public, some are held when the library is open.
Staff are always on hand, with volunteers to assist and support. They can accommodate wheelchair users and people with sensory loss. Customers can have a cup of tea and a chat while they choose their books.
If you are interested in this idea, ask the librarian whether a club operates in your area or click on the link to the Gloucestershire libraries web page and follow the links from there.
