Organisation:Village Agents

Comment:

Gloucestershire County Council, in partnership with Gloucestershire Rural Community Council, is running this pilot project in rural Gloucestershire. The project will cover over a hundred parishes in some of the most isolated areas of the county, supplying them with a dedicated Village Agent. Village Agents will put people in touch with statutory and voluntary organisations able to offer help or support, and will have information about local clubs and societies, leisure activities, pensions and benefits, social care, etc.
The service is primarily for older people (fifty plus), but other disadvantaged and isolated people will also be able to receive support.
To find out if there is a Village Agent for your parish, please phone the County Council's Adult Helpdesk on 01452-426868.
