Organisation:Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants

Comment:

The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) was established in 1967 to provide immediate and direct support to immigrants and to campaign for justice in immigration law and policy. Since its inception the organisation has been instrumental in creating a partnership amongst voluntary and otherservice providers and acting as an important resource to them. JCWI has maintained a leading place as an independent voluntary organisation providing legal advice and representation to individuals, acting as a training resource for others working in the field of immigration law, and producing written material (leaflets, briefings, the JCWI Handbook and the quarterly JCWI Bulletin).
