Organisation:Gloucestershire Smoking Advice Service

Comment:

The Gloucestershire Smoking Advice Service, supported by the West Glos NHS PCT and Dept. of Health, provides free, friendly and practical support and advice to those smokers who wish to quit. The objectives of the Service are:
1). To provide training and support to healthcare professionals and others who wish to help smokers through the process of quitting. There are trained Stop Smoking Advisors in most GP surgeries in the county. People can find out whether their GP has an Advisor by calling the Service on 01452-429345.
2). To provide a Specialist level of support to heavily dependent smokers who are highly motivated to quit but who need more help than their GP advisor can give. Specialist help will be provided across the county on either a group or one to one basis. Members of the general public may refer themselves to this Service and then undergo an application process.
