Comment:

ACE stands for Aiding Communication in Education. The ACE centre provides training for parents and professionals working with children with communication disabilities on how and what technology is available to help with communication. They provide an assessment service to establish care packages for children and these assessments are carried out by an interdisciplinary team and can be at the ACE centre, in the child's school and sometimes at home. Back-up training for parents is included in the assessment package.
ACE also supports research with manufacturers by advising on the special needs of communication impaired children and developing specialised softwear to meet their specific needs.
Monthly information days are held - phone to make a free half hour appointment.
