Comment: | The National Association for Patient Participation (NAPP) promotes self help as a process to enable patients to develop a mutual interest in their primary health care at the surgery. It provides effective grass roots forums in the community for patients, carers and health service staff which will have benefits for all. It aims to maintain a volunteer network of regional and local representatives in their efforts to bring to group practices and clinics the know-how in setting up local Patient Participation Groups in their locality, and to work closely with the Department of Health. They devise and collate information for patient groups. NAPP has regular contact with statutory and voluntary agencies concerned with health and in particular with patients' views and interests. |
