Organisation:Local Government Ombudsman

Comment:

The Local Government Ombudsman can investigate complaints about councils and other authorities including district, borough, city or county councils (see full list in booklet), with the aim of putting things right if they have gone wrong. They are appointed by Her Majesty the Queen and are completely independent of the Government, councils and the people who complain to them. They are impartial and have the same powers as the High Court to order anyone to produce documents etc. The leaflet explains what complaints can be investigated, how to make a complaint and how the complaint will be dealt with. For further information there is an Advice Line available on 0845-602-1983.
