The Institute of Psychosexual Medicine seeks to promote the study and practice of psychosexual medicine through seminar training and research. Training is offered to doctors who seek to help with sexual difficulties and related marital or psychosomatic problems. Such problems may present overtly or in the guise of other symptoms. The training aims to increase skill rather than knowledge, and the method of training is concerned with practice rather than theory. Doctors who wish to be trained should be practising clinical medicine and are likely to be working in general practice, family planning, gynaecology, genito-urinary medicine or psychiatry. The Institute can provide members of the public with a list of accredited doctors in their area.
